A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory
settings, including primary, multi-specialty, specialty practices. This position may function as a patient service representative or a medical practice assistant depending on the daily assignment. Incumbent will become Epic Super User within first year in this role.
May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting providers
with patient care, and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values to both customer and co-workers. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations.
This position has a strong emphasis on customer service to our patients.
Must ensure quality patient scheduling & registration, positive telephone etiquette and customer satisfaction in support of the mission of Cooper University Health Care.
Scheduled Days / Hours: Mon-Fri 8-430pm
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Graduate of an MA Clinical Training program.
Minimum of 1 year experience with front desk and clinical operations in a fast-paced physician’s practice or clinical site preferably within the Cooper University Healthcare System that included rooming and triaging patients; scheduling, registering and working on an electronic health record.
Minimum of 1year of experience working with IDX preferred and Epic required.
Excellent customer service experience.
Required License/Certifications/ Registration:
Current CMA, NCMA or RMA – Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Must possess a current CPR certification.
Excellent customer service skills; Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively and effectively with patients, visitors and health care team members.
Knowledge of patient rights, aseptic/sterile technique and infection control best practices. Must have reliable transportation.
