Short Description

As a key member of Cooper University Health Care, the AVP Planning is responsible for the development and management of strategic plans across our Institutes and other business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Anticipating, identifying, planning, and organizing strategic planning activities at the service line, market, and individual hospital level, as deemed appropriate.
  • Works with Institute Leadership and other departments to initiate and develop market based / competitor analysis of healthcare trends competitive threats, and deliver data-driven analyses to support actionable strategic direction.   •
  • Works collaboratively with Institute and Hospital Executive leadership to develop, document, and coordinate mid- and long-range strategic plans for growth, finance, people, service, and quality to promote the future viability of the Health System.
  • Assist in developing improved management processes related to Cooper’s business planning function.
  • The AVP of Planning will manage day to day workflow within the Department.

This individual will report to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning & Business Development.

Special Requirements

Scheduled Days / Hours: .; Education:MASTERS Required

 

Advanced degree such as an M.B.A.or M.H.A. required.

 

Highly skilled executive or consultant, with significant experience in planning, corporate strategy development and business development.

 

At least 7 years experience in business development or healthcare planning, including at least five years in a managerial role.

 

Proven track record in business development and strategic planning with the demonstrated ability to translate and communicate a plan into tactical goals.

 

Strong financial perception, highly skilled in analyzing and quantifying healthcare financial and market data. Ability to develop financial models.

 

Extensive experience in working with senior administration and physicians with respect to business development and program planning.

 

Thorough and broad understanding of current issues and future challenges facing healthcare delivery systems.

 

Experience in an academic medical center is preferred but not required.
