    The Data Analyst is responsible for data collection, storage, and analysis. The Data Analyst will aggregate data from institutional and payer sources to create a master database(s) that can be queried and geo-mapped. Strict adherence to security protocols and HIPAA compliance is a critical part of this work and the Data Analyst will work to ensure that all data are securely transmitted and stored.


    The Data Analyst will keep the database(s) up-to-date and work with partners to collect and integrate incoming datasets. The Data Analyst will work with the Director and collaborating institutions to conduct analyses. The Data Analyst will be encouraged to find creative ways to use quantitative analyses to illuminate trends and patterns in the data, as well test real-life hypotheses.


    The Data Analyst will demonstrate the ability to present information in a concise and effective manner; as well as the ability to work as a team player and collaborate effectively with others.


    The Data Analyst will exhibit a high level of initiative, accuracy and self direction. They must be able to work efficiently when there are competing priorities and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.


    The Center for Population Health of Cooper University Health System is an R&D unit dedicated to positioning the organization for growth in an accountable care market. It carries out this function by establishing pilot programs that field-test population health strategies, developing payer-based partnerships and products, and developing provider partnerships to form integrated care delivery models.

    Special Requirements

    Scheduled Days / Hours: 8


    Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, or similar quantitative experience


    Three to five years experience.
    Proven ability to analyze data in creative ways and display results in a compelling manner;
    Knowledge of database management software (Access, SQL);
    Knowledge of statistical packages (Mini Tab, SPSS, R);
    Experience managing and administering a database;
    Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Excel (macros a plus)


    A keen interested in health data;

    Experience in process improvement preferred,

    Previous clinical experience and knowledge of ICD-9, CPT/HCPCS and other coding systems preferred.
