  • Short Description

    The Drug Diversion Specialist provides oversight and direction for the daily operations of the Drug Diversion Prevention, Detection, and Response Program. The Diversion Specialist is accountable for all aspects of drug diversion education, prevention, monitoring, investigation, and reporting at Cooper Health System. 

    Special Requirements

    Scheduled Days / Hours: rotational days nights

    Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in nursing

    Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in health care required

    Required License/Certifications/ Registration:

    Thorough understanding of medication dispensing technology (i.e. omnicell) required;

    Other Qualifications:

    Experience in Drug Diversion prevention process; strong interpersonal, analytical, organization and problem-solving skills; excellent public speaking and teaching abilities as well as development of educational programs; ability to effectively implement change and work collaboratively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams; proficient computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications; knowledge and understanding of federal and state medication handling and controlled substance regulations; familiarity with Accreditation standards, DEA, EPA, CMS, and FDA regulations and ISMP and ASHP guidelines and recommendations; previous experience in trending and analyzing data
