The Outpatient Social Worker is responsible for coordinating the complex discharge planning needs of patients and families, as well as to provide supportive counseling, psychosocial assessment and interventions for patients with complex psychiatric, social, medical, and financial needs in the inpatient setting. The Social Worker also assists the interdisciplinary team in order to help the patient and families cope with hospitalization, illness, diagnoses, treatment, and other issues as they prevent a barrier to efficient patient throughput and quality outcomes.

•  Strong critical thinking skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.

• Minimum of 1 year Behavioral Health experience required.
• Must demonstrate theoretical knowledge of psychology for Child/Adolescent, Adult/Geriatric populations.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of modern psychiatric case work, psychological assessment, personality theory, DSM IV, psychotherapy and case work.

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college/university.
• LCSW required; NJ social work license.

Current NJ SW License – (NEW JERSEY SOCIAL WORKER)

Scheduled Days / Hours: M-F 8:30 - 5; License (or Certification):NJ-LSW Required
