The Nurse manager of Radiation Oncology assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of the staff and care delivery to ensure quality of patient care within the radiation oncology department at the direction of the Director of Radiation Oncology and in his/her absence. This staff includes radiation oncology nurses, medical assistants, secretaries, registrars, and others as assigned .
The Nurse Manager of Radiation Oncology works with other department managers as a partner and the multi-disciplinary team to plan, direct, monitor and evaluate care ensuring staff are practicing at evidenced based standards, meeting departmental objectives, patient care needs and efficient operations. In addition, the Manager will assist to problem solve and serve as a mediator as needed for positive change and foster positive intra and interdepartmental relationships.
3-5 years of nursing experience with 2-3 years in oncology.
1 year of demonstrated leadership ability, preferred.
Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s in nursing required.
Current New Jersey License as Registered Nurse
Current BLS Certification.
Oncology Nurse Certification or ability to obtain within 18 months
