Short Description

  • The candidate will review paper work, enter orders, process incoming fax and order scripts and/or send to the appropriate sections for processing.
  • Answers multiple line telephone while maintaining a consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  • Schedules patients and updates patient demographic by collecting detailed patient information including insurance information, must be able to work with doctor offices and internal nursing floors and physicians to obtain patient information/history for exams
  • Maintains patient confidentially
  • Protects health information
  • Responsible for keeping the work area organized

Experience Required

  • Experience working on computers required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required.
  • Experience with medical scheduling systems, i.e. MediTech - (ITS), OR manager required.
  • Knowledge of other medical computer systems, i.e. Soarian, Document Management (DM), PACS, EPIC preferred.
  • The ability to assimilate into a small department and work independently.
  • Highly developed customer service and phone etiquette skills required.
  • This position will be trained on the requirements needed to perform at a high level then will be expected to maintain all aspects of the requirements for the position with little to no oversight.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GE equivalency required.

Special Requirements

  • Staffing requirements at this time are M-F 7:30a to 3:30p. No holidays and no weekends. 37.5 hours per week.
  • This position will report directly to the imaging department’s clerical supervisor.
