Works with manager of Perfusion and other staff perfusionist or OR managers to provide clinical services and patient care within the scope of the practice at Cooper University Hospital
Essential Functions:
Desired previous related medical experience or completion of related medical/science level courses; communications or hospitality industry are also desirable experiences
High School diploma required, certificate or degree preferred, currently enrolled student in allied health profession is also desired --- has effective verbal communication and adequate written and communication skills
Certification in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 6 months of hire.
Mental and Physical demands / work environment
1. Must be flexible with additional variable hours for emergencies later than forecasted scheduled shift
2. Must be available to take call 1-2 times per week and every third weekend starting on Friday night and ending on Monday morning at approximately 6a
3. Must be mentally alert; required to be on your feet – standing or walking for a period of an hour or longer , bend, or kneel for particular functions, sit, use hands to grasp firmly and twist or turn wrists with some force, handle of feel objects, reach with arms and hands, must be able to lift, push, or pull 50lbs or more; hearing must be normal with or without correction; vision must be normal with or without correction; understands the possibility of being exposed to blood-borne pathogens and bio-hazardous chemicals; exposure to the environment in which patient’s organs are excised, drilled, and dissected causing exposure of the internal organs and bones with the potential of massive amounts of blood
