Short Description

The Service Line Coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for the coordination and implementation of patient care services within the Operating Room at the direction of the Specialty Clinical Director and Clinical Director:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the coordination and implementation of patient care services within the Operating Room at the direction of the Surgical Services Associate Clinical Director.
  • Coordinates the daily activities of the assigned specialty services in the Operating Room
  • Develops and monitors efficient daily workflows for assigned service lines and coordinates the resources to support the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and achieve departmental objectives
  • Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and service line management within the Operating Room
  • Preparation and maintenance of resources to provide care within the Operating Room Clinical Setting

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical Surgical Technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists
    OR
  • Successful completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United Dates Public Health Service Commissioned Corps
    OR
  • Equivalent experience – this applies to individuals that have been employed (as outlined in the Experience section below) as a Surgical Technologists prior to the effective date of NJSA 26:2H – 12.62 (i.e. 12/11/2011)

License/Certification Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing, etc.)

Special Requirements

  • Scheduled Days / Hours: 630a-5p
  • Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ
