ADVANCED PRACTICED PROVIDER (APP) - Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant - Joint Replacement - Camden, NJ 
 
The Cooper Bone & Joint Institute is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse) to join our growing Adult Reconstruction team.


This APP will provide comprehensive care throughout the patient's surgical journey, serving as an integral member of the Joint Replacement team in both the operating room and clinical settings. The role includes first assisting in surgery, inpatient management, perioperative care coordination, and outpatient follow-up, ensuring continuity of care from initial evaluation through postoperative recovery.


Responsibilities include:

  1. First assist in the operating room for primary and revision total joint replacement procedures and other orthopaedic surgeries as appropriate. 
  2. Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations. 
  3. Perform inpatient rounding and manage postoperative care in collaboration with the attending surgeon. 
  4. Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care. 
  5. Provide patient education regarding surgical preparation, recovery expectations, rehabilitation, and postoperative precautions. 
  6. Evaluate and manage routine postoperative concerns within scope of practice. 
  7. Assist in optimizing clinic flow and improving patient access through independent visits. 
  8. Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nursing, physical therapy, case management, and ancillary services to provide coordinated, high-quality care. 

This position offers the opportunity to become an integral member of a growing Joint Replacement program, combining operative first-assisting with comprehensive inpatient and outpatient management. The APP will work in a collaborative, team-based environment focused on delivering exceptional patient outcomes while supporting continued growth of Cooper's Joint Replacement service line.

Experience Required

Orthopedic experience (preferred).

Education Requirements

Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required

License/Certification Requirements

NJ Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure and Board certification is required. BLS certification is required.

Scheduled Days / Hours: Full Time; day shift.
