A nonexempt position responsible for the medical assistant care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s) in various ambulatory settings. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management. Greets patients and guests utilizing AIDET and provides excellent service experience. Provides patient support and keeps informed of delays. Takes appropriate action including offering alternatives.

Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling technologists, nursing and physcians to perform their duties in an effective manner. Maintain inventory levels of supplies and organize stock so that it’s properly maintained to avoid loss during daily operations or expiration. Clean assigned work areas and related equipment. Assist medical, technical, and clerical staff to prepare patients and patient rooms for procedures. Collect and deposit soiled laundry appropriately to ensure proper sanitation standards and cleaning of work areas. The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.
