The Graduate Nurse (GN) is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. The GN holds a temporary emergency RN license and shall be eligible to work only under supervision in an acute care facility licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health. Such supervision may be in the form of a preceptor relationship. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required. The following tasks will not be performed by the GN: •Procedures not signed off by the RN preceptor or Clinical Educator that requires competency. •Direct or supervise other healthcare staff. •Make assignments for other staff.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit at the direction of the Clinical Director and in his/her absence. This role is broad in scope and requires the ability to work independently and apply a high degree of judgment. Assigns workload and assumes responsibility for the operational functioning of the department. Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the nursing unit at the direction of the Clinical Director. Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care. Assists the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. Assists the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives. Assists the Clinical Director in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development. Acting as a liaison between nursing and medical staff, serving as a problem-solver and mediator for positive change; develops and maintains effective intra and interdepartmental relationships.

 Responsible for the facilitation and coordination of safe and comprehensive care to all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Center. This RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Will have the unique opportunity to assist in the development and operations of the Cooper Urgent Care Center. This new model focuses on the acute/immediate care needs in the Cherry Hill and surrounding areas. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and clinical skills are required. References in these areas are a must.

 To provide continuous observation and surveillance of 1:1/Close observation patients while maintaining patient safety. Patient Rounding to ensure equipment efficiency and patient safety. Assists in providing direct, indirect, and non-patient care responsibilities. Contributes to quality patient care by serving as a significant member of the health care team.

Carries out procedures for department functions, including, but not limited to: - Washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments/equipment - Maintaining accurate monitoring records - Using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators - Performs appropriate cleaning of all sterilization equipment - Assisting OR personnel in locating/reprocessing instruments - Participating in performance improvement activities. - Follows established policies & procedures. - Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. - Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.

     Facilitates preparation of IRB protocol submissions and informed consent forms.       Key individual in identifying, recruiting and interacting with patients throughout the entire      study.       Responsible for completing and maintaining all study documents, in compliance with IRB,      Cooper Health System, sponsor and FDA requirements.

Functions in the role of providing a safe environment for patients requiring close observation. Assists in providing direct, indirect, and non-patient care responsibilities. Contributes to quality patient care by serving as a significant member of the health care team.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.

Performs essential duties related to one or more of the clinical subspecialties of Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology/Immunology based on shift. For Customer Service posting, performs essential duties related to reference lab test processing and resulting.

Responsible for receipt, distribution and delivery of supplies within Cooper Health Care network. This includes: Picking of requisitions orders, Receipt of Purchase Orders, Delivery of supplies, utilizing truck, Replenishment of inventory supplies, Cycle Counting, Utilizing Lawson / Mobile Supply Chain RF Scanner, Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
