The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.   Additional Responsibilities: - Follows established policies and procedures. - Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. - Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. - Applies Cooper core values. - Assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe. - Evaluates patients, implements and documents nursing care. - Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. - Performs various patient tests and administers medications utilizing the nursing process. - Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

    The trained Surgical technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered      Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service      areas in the Surgical Suite.

Assists with Business Office Support duties and will be trained to EPIC applications and front desk registration & copay collection

Verify eligibility with insurance companies; Communicate with patients and  insurance companies regarding co-pays, deductibles, denials, and Cost of Benefit (COB) issues; Resolve accounts timely and effectively.  Provides excellent customer service.   

Set-up starterstation with trays, flatware, napkins, condiments, etc. Clean area according to cleaning checklist. Work starter/assembler/ checker station for patient AYR room service. Assist co-workers as necessary. Put non entree' items on patient trayper ticket order. Highlight those items put on tray ticket.Set-up expediter area with par-stock items. Assume responsibility for advanced nursing practice within a clinical specialty. In consultation with other members of the health care team, strengthens nursing practice and promotes positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of patients, staff and patient education, and research. Serve as a significant member of the multidisciplinary health care team in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.  

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. - Supports the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice. - Performs technical duties as directed by RN, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care specific to population served and documents appropriately. - Identifies and communicates changes in patient’s status to RN and responds appropriately. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice. - Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding individual care needs and safety issues. - Participates in Cooper patient satisfaction initiatives and goals. Participates in the performance improvement activities. Assists in orientation of new hires. - Completes annual unit-specific competencies by specified due date. - Attends Staff Meetings when available for documents review of staff meeting minutes. - Assists in admission, transfers and discharges of patients to and from the unit.
