The research director of The Cooper Neurological Institute will play a key role in developing and carrying out research initiatives and strategies, in collaboration with the Institute’s Leadership and the Research Medical Director. This Directors primary objective is to strengthen the institute and Cooper through research endeavors. The research director will actively support the CNI research team, guiding budgetary considerations, resource procurement and allocation, and strategic planning. Should be comfortable working independently, with the ability to meet project deadlines and balance multiple projects at one time.
Set the overall vision for the research program, develop strategic initiatives, and help identify emerging areas for research focus in collaboration with the Research Medical Director and Institute leaders. This includes establishing research goals and aligning projects with the institutes’ mission.
Oversee efforts to secure funding from grants, donors, and industry partnerships. Manage the allocation of research resources, including budget oversight, equipment acquisition, and distribution of research resources
Ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical guidelines, such as IRB (Institutional Review Board) protocols, HIPAA, and other federal and state regulations to protect participants' rights and data privacy.
Support the recruitment, development, and retention of research faculty and staff. Support researchers, foster collaboration, and promote a culture of academic excellence.
Facilitate the publication and presentation of research findings both in and outside of Cooper.
3-5 years required.
Master's Degree Required. Doctorate Preferred.
