Perform coding validation reviews for Patient Safety, POA, Compliance, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Quality and Performance Improvement and assist with internal/external coding audits and education/feedback.
3 years inpatient and outpatient experience. General Hospital coding experience with multi-specialty preferred ( cardiac, obstetrics, ortho, med/surg etc.). Knowledge of PC database applications ( Microsoft, Excel). Knowledge of , ICD-10, CPT-4, 3M Encoder and pre-bill Coding Edits
Bachelor or associate’s degree in HIM, or Coding Certificate Program, or equivalent experience leading to appropriate certification.
CCS, CCA or CPC required Certification
RHIA/RHIT/CDIP certification preferred.
