Short Description

  • Performs radiographic services in accordance with Hospital standards, State and Federal regulations. Demonstrates a full knowledge base of radiographic positioning and technique. Performs routine procedures in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Verifies the presence of images and accurate documentation in the Picture Achieving Communication System. Assures accuracy of        information provided and the quality of images.
  • Performs vascular/interventional procedures under the direction of the Radiologist. Sets up and breaks down room including but not limited to catheters, guide wires, drapes and other essential equipment.
  • Participates in the on-going process of CQI via documentation, data collection and customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and applies good patient relations skills. Assumes responsibility for the provision of physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  • Performs all functions in compliance with standard precautions and infection control policies and procedures. Participates in staff and/or department meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required

  • Must have full knowledge of all aspects concerning radiation protection.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must demonstrate competency in the performance of Vascular procedures.
  • Must have a solid understanding of anatomy as it relates to vascular imaging.

Education Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school.

 

License/Certification Requirements

  • Ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and /or certification by the NJ State Board of Examiners.
  • RVT Certification preferred
  • Current CPR Certification preferred.
