The hospital's IV team is a specialized unit composed of highly trained and skilled nurses and healthcare professionals dedicated to intravenous (IV) therapy. This team is essential for ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate and expertly managed IV care. They provide 24-hour coverage, ensuring that IV services are always available, day or night, to meet the needs of patients throughout the hospital. Key services provided by the IV team include: peripheral IV insertions, PICC line insertions, and ultrasound-guided IV insertions. The IV team's role is pivotal in inpatient care across various departments of the hospital. Their specialized skills contribute significantly to the efficiency and safety of treatment protocols, particularly in critical care settings where timely IV access can be lifesaving. The Registered RN is a professional caregiver, who as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They supervise and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
Prior experience on an IV team or with vascular access is preferred
Prior in ultrasound guided IV insertion preferred
Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse); Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers); certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
