Short Description

The IT Product Manager of Surgical Services plays a crucial role within Cooper University Health Care’s Information Technology Applications team, reporting to the IT Applications Director. This position provides leadership in managing clinical applications, ensuring their seamless implementation, monitoring, and maintenance, using Agile framework and methodology. The manager oversees key people, processes, and technology related to periprocedural applications, particularly Epic specialty applications such as Epic OpTime and Epic Anesthesia, along with other supporting applications. Designed for a technically adept, dynamic leader, this role requires agility in adapting to evolving business needs while maintaining optimal system performance.

 

Focused on enhancing perioperative, surgical, and anesthesia practices through strategic technology integration, this position requires a candidate passionate about using technology to improve patient care and operational efficiency. The IT Product Manager collaborates closely with perioperative leadership to ensure IT systems effectively support surgical and invasive procedure workflows. Responsibilities include coordinating project-oriented efforts, establishing project management processes, and overseeing roadmaps, plans, and daily work efforts. Additionally, the manager addresses ensure effective communication among IT and business operations stakeholders to maintain alignment and transparency.

Experience Required

3-5 required, 6-10 preferred

Would like the experience range to be Five to Seven years (or more) of relevant experience in IT and business/industry or government

Education Requirements

Bachelors preferred

Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, Computer Science, or other related field of study

 

Professional Licensure (such a R.N.) and Industry Certifications in lieu of Bachelor’s degree; equivalent work experience considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

License/Certification Requirements

Preferred:

Professional Licensure (such as R.N.) in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
Industry-specific certification(s) that align with job-related responsibilities in lieu of Bachelor’s degree

Special Requirements

Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
Experience with engaging executives and other stakeholders to support important business decisions.
3+ years in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities across business and IT.
Knowledge of product management disciplines and software development life cycle.
Effective in translating technical language into business language as needed to bridge the gap between business and technical professionals.
Ability to problem solve business and stakeholder customer processes and problems, and is effective at solving these problems.
Effective at conveying the vision and other messages requiring action; ability to influence others with their vision and builds enthusiasm about fulfilling it.
Has a broad perspective that informs product definition and delivery.
