Short Description

The Phlebotomy Coordinator supports the Phlebotomy Supervisor in managing the daily operations and projects for both in-house and outreach phlebotomy services. This role ensures consistent coverage, provides training and guidance to phlebotomy staff, steps in during staffing shortages or supervisor absence, and serves as the primary contact for outreach-related issues. 

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in hospital-based and outreach phlebotomy experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, support team coverage, and coordinate with other departments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable with client-facing roles and resolving service issues in real-time.
  • Proficiency in LIS/EMR systems (e.g., Sunquest, Epic, Orchard Copia).

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s in health sciences preferred.
  • Supervisory or management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

License/Certification Requirements

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NHA).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel to LTCF sites.

Special Requirements

Regular travel to long-term care facilities (LTCFs) is required, along with occasional after-hours customer service support.
