Experience Required

Train and monitor skills of new and existing Medical Assistants:

  • Obtains current patient information including but not limited to; vital signs, height, weight, specimens, allergies, reason for visit, chief complaint, medical history updates, and medication changes, and records iin accordance with OSHA and universal precautions
  • Processing instruments and equipment as needed
  • Obtaining all necessary patient records as required by the physician and verifying the presence of consent prior to treatment 
  • Scheduling appointments as applicable
  • Assisting in preauthorization needs
  • All other duties as assigned. Including providing medical assistant support to the providers if there is a staffing need

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

License/Certification Requirements

  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or registration by the American Medical Technologist, or equivalency
  • Current CPR certification required

Special Requirements

  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • 3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Performance of EKG required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or registration by the American Medical Technologist, or equivalency
