Short Description

  • Performs Computerized Tomographic procedures in accordance with hospital standards, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Have a full knowledge of cross section anatomy and computer applications specific to CT. Practices in accordance with National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Verifies the presence of images and accurate documentation in the Picture Achieving Communication System. Assures accuracy of information provided and the quality of images.
  • Interviews patients relative to pertinent information and clinical history to complete the necessary forms. Provides patients, families and others with instructions and educational information to complete the requested procedure.
  • Provides the necessary documentation to ensure compliance in a multidisciplinary approach for patient care.
    Participates in the on-going process of CQI via documentation, data collection and customer satisfaction.
  • Understands and applies patient relations skills.  Assumes responsibility for the provision of physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to a Culture of Patient Safety and High Reliability through use of the NJ STRONG patient safety behaviors. Engages in reducing unsafe practices and improving the culture of safety through implementation of best practices as appropriate for the discipline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school, plus three additional months of training. 

 

License/Certification Requirements

Ability to meet requirements for Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or certification by the Board of Examinees.
