The hospital's IV team is a specialized unit composed of highly trained and skilled nurses and healthcare professionals dedicated to intravenous (IV) therapy. This team is essential for ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate and expertly managed IV care.
They provide 24-hour coverage, ensuring that IV services are always available, day, or night, to meet the needs of patients throughout the hospital. Key services provided by the IV team include: peripheral IV insertions, PICC line insertions and ultra-sound guided IV insertions.
The IV team's role is pivotal in-patient care across various departments of the hospital. Their specialized skills contribute significantly to the efficiency and safety of treatment protocols, particularly in critical care settings where timely IV access can be lifesaving. 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role preferred.
AHA Basic Life Support certification.
Must successfully complete EKG and Phlebotomy training during orientation.
