Plans, directs, implements, and evaluates the operations of the assigned departments or functions. Oversees resources, and unit management on a 24-hour 7-day basis for designated patient care units, working in coordination with the Nursing Supervisor. Manages unit resources to maximize quality patient care in accordance with State and Federal regulations and safety guidelines, universal precautions practices, and hospital policies. Initiates programs to improve organizational performance and to enhance provision of care. Directs and participates in the department’s planning, budgeting, education, and human resource activities. Ensures that nursing standards of patient care and standards of nursing practice are consistent with current nursing research findings and nationally recognized professional standards. Adheres to the American Nurses Association Nursing Standards of Practice and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
Minimum of three years’ management experience required.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required, MSN preferred.
Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
Current American Heart Association, (AHA) BLS CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification required
