Short Description

  • A Cert Respiratory Therapist will have a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP) perform all aspects of respiratory care, which includes inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Patient assessment, mechanical ventilatory support monitoring, non-invasive ventilation support, administration of medical gas delivery systems (i.e.:  heliox, nitric, oxygen compressed air, HFNC therapy, etc...), humidification and aerosol therapy, as assigned.
  • Airway management, delivery of aerosolized & instilled medications, arterial blood gas acquisition & analysis
  • Peak flow monitoring, assist with bedside tracheostomies and bronchoscopy, internal and external patient transporting, patient and family education. Also, Airway management, delivery of aerosolized & instilled medications, chest physical therapy, vest therapy, IPV therapy, in-exsufflation therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, arterial blood gas acquisition & analysis, as assigned.
  • Stock supplies as needed, when assigned.

Experience Required

0-2 years' experience required.

3-5 years' experience preferred.

Education Requirements

High School/GED required.

Associate’s degree preferred.

License/Certification Requirements

NJ Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.

AHA BLS Card required.

AHA PALS certification obtained within 12 months of hire required. 

 

 

Special Requirements

Field of Study - Respiratory Therapy. 

Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required.

Experience in a high volume, fast paced acute care setting-preferred.
