Short Description

  • Performs maintenance, calibration, method validation, troubleshooting and minor repairs on assigned instrumentation. 
  • Ability to logically and independently plan and organize work assignments.
  • Interpersonal skills must be well developed.
  • Should possess the initiative and ability to set and achieve high standards of performance.
  • Ability to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Must possess analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally, and in writing

 

Experience Required

  • One year laboratory experience preferred (Student experience acceptable.)

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and completion of an accredited histology technician or other applicable training program is preferred. 
  • Training and experience in lieu of education is acceptable. 

License/Certification Requirements

  • ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Registry preferred.
