Short Description

The Provider Operations & Care Integration Specialist will serve as the primary Epic EMR, and digital workflow resource dedicated to supporting Cooper Care Alliance (CCA) providers, practices, and virtual care initiatives. This individual will leverage their expertise to optimize clinical workflows, enhance the provider experience, and ensure that Epic accurately reflects the care being delivered across diverse patient populations. A key aspect of this role includes direct support to The Center for LGBTQ+ Care, where the specialist will assist providers and the medical director to ensure that Epic documentation and workflows properly capture the specialized and inclusive care provided to this patient community. The specialist will also engage directly with patients, assisting them in MyChart navigation, care coordination, and access to supportive health system resources, ensuring an affirming and seamless experience for all patients. Working closely with the Associate Medical Director, and Cooper IT, this role will bridge clinical operations, digital systems, and patient experience—strengthening provider adoption, reducing inefficiencies, and supporting CCA’s strategic growth initiatives, including the Virtual Primary Care practice (Inboxologist and Care Now).

Serve as the primary Epic EMR and workflow optimization specialist dedicated to Cooper Care Alliance.
Provide on-site support to CCA offices, troubleshooting Epic-related issues to ensure minimal disruption to patient care.
Collaborate with the Cooper IT department to maintain systemwide consistency while supporting the unique operational needs of CCA.

Monitor Epic performance issues, escalate as needed, and ensure timely resolution.

Partner with the Associate Medical Director and staff to support onboarding of new providers and clinical staff.

Deliver workflow optimization, training, and elbow support to ensure providers are efficient and comfortable in Epic.

Assist with documentation compliance, including unsigned notes and best practices to reduce reliance on scribes.

Develop onboarding resources and materials to streamline provider integration into CCA practices.

Assist patients—particularly those within The Center for LGBTQ+ Care—with MyChart setup, portal navigation, and digital communication tools.
Help patients understand how to access and manage their care within Cooper’s digital ecosystem, addressing unique medical and psychosocial needs.
Support equitable access to digital health tools and serve as a patient advocate for inclusive, affirming care delivery.
Generate and analyze Epic reports to support leadership in monitoring performance, provider efficiency, and patient experience.
Identify opportunities for workflow improvement across both traditional and virtual care settings.

Provide data-driven recommendations to CCA leadership and IT based on observed trends, provider feedback, and patient outcomes.
Support the Virtual Primary Care practice, including Inboxologist workflows and Care Now operations.
Serve as a liaison between clinical operations, Cooper IT, and Cooper Care Alliance leadership.
Advance system alignment while ensuring CCA’s unique initiatives and care models are fully supported and represented in Epic.

Demonstrated strength in problem solving, analytical thinking, and translating complex technical issues into practical solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with executive leadership, clinical directors, and operational teams to improve system performance and workflow design.
- Strong interpersonal communication and teaching skills, with experience simplifying complex workflows for non-technical users.
- Experience supporting specialized populations preferred—particularly LGBTQ+ patients or other communities with unique care needs—is highly valued.
- Comfortable providing on-site assistance across multiple practices, directly engaging with providers, staff, and patients.
- Ability to create, interpret, and present reports or dashboards for leadership decision-making.

 

Understands how Epic workflows impact provider efficiency, patient care quality, and inclusivity across diverse practices.
- Empathy & Inclusion: Advocates for equitable, affirming care; understands the nuances of supporting LGBTQ+ patients and their providers.
- Communication: Clearly translates data, workflows, and system updates for both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Leadership Partnership: Works collaboratively with the Associate Medical Director, Strategic Director, Administrative Director and practice leadership to operationalize digital initiatives.
- Analytical Reporting: Uses Epic data to monitor provider and patient outcomes, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
