The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
The Electrophysiology Laboratory is a dynamic, high-acuity environment where registered nurses play a pivotal role in delivering advanced cardiovascular care. Working alongside experienced electrophysiologists, EP Lab RNs assist with complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing state-of-the-art imaging and technology. As part of Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care, this team provides exceptional care to patients with intricate cardiac conditions ranging from pacemaker implant to complex ablations. Nurses in this unit are integral members of a highly skilled, collaborative team committed to innovation, precision, and excellence in patient outcomes. Their responsibilities include circulating, scrubbing, and monitoring during procedures; documenting within the electronic medical record; and providing comprehensive education to support patient recovery.
