Short Description

Carries out procedures for department functions, including, but not limited to:

 

  • Complies with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Creates a culture of performance improvement that contributes to providing safe, timely, effective, efficient equitable patient centered care.
  • Prepares anesthesia stations in each Operating Room.
  • Maintains necessary supplies for Anesthesia Department: Requisitions stock supplies from Distribution Department. Orders anesthesia-specific items via Purchasing Department
  • Maintain and clean anesthesia machines.  Assist anesthesia provider with changing suctions, tubing, set-up IV’s, etc., between cases.
  • Enters daily direct patient anesthesia charges with electronic medical record and medication dispensing system.
  • Communicates add-on cases to anesthesiologist in charge in a timely manner. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to a Culture of Patient Safety and High Reliability through use of and promotion of high reliability principles and the NJ STRONG patient safety behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Experience Required

  • Formal patient care technician or nursing assistant training desired.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. 

License/Certification Requirements

  • American Heart Association BLS

Special Requirements

  • Monday- Friday 7A-3:30P or 8A-4:30P or 9A-5:30P
