Short Description

Responsibilities:

  • Performs EEG procedure in accordance with the American Society Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist and department policies.  Demonstrates a full knowledge of Electroneurodignostics and the usage of digital EEG equipment.  Completes daily scheduled tests in the appropriate time frame and to population specific group.  Includes Long term monitoring.  
  • Ability to identify the patient appropriately and prepare the patient.  Explains the procedure.  Ability to navigate through an electronic medical record.  
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize work assignments on a daily basis.  Ability to corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure assuring appropriateness for the test requested. Ability to provide the Neurologist with the appropriate information necessary for interpretation.  
  • Ability to communicate to supervisor and/or Neurologists problems associated with patient or procedure.  
  • Maintains equipment in a clean and functional manner on a daily basis.  Organizes and orders stock in EEG Lab.  Stocks machines on a daily basis.  Documents weekly/monthly maintenance cleaning in cleaning log book.  Ability to keep updated on equipment upgrades and recognizes/trouble shoots equipment failure.  
  • Complies with all aspects of regulatory readiness.  To include the JC priority focus areas, CDC and State standards.  Demonstrates knowledge of the departmental performance improvement indicators.  
  • Perform Smartskans.  
  • Performs other duties within the cardiac services department as needed. 

Experience Required

0-2 years of experience 

Education Requirements

High School or GED required and must be graduate from an accredited EEG school

License/Certification Requirements

CPR required

ABRET Registry preferred
