Assess blood pressure before and during the test to ensure it is within appropriate medical parameters for the specific test administered.
Work the stress machine while the patient is on the treadmill which includes taking action to record specific rhythms as identified by protocol (changes in rhythm, premature beats).
For patients who are unable to tolerate exercise and require pharmacologic testing, RN to administer vasodilator via IV that mimics exercise (Lexiscan).  Assess status and symptoms, reverse meds when necessary.
