Ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees as well as protect and preserve property interests of Cooper University Health Care through security post coverage, monitoring entrances, responding to alarms and requests for security assistance, fire watch responsibilities, parking enforcement, providing escorts when requested, investigating and reporting suspicious activity, and patrolling the interior and exterior of the property.
Implement safety and security measures during Medical Assistance response, including BRRT response, overdose, and de-escalate violent patient/visitor interactions.
Provide weapons detection by use of walk through metal detector, hand wands, and package x-ray machine where applicable.
Customer service is a core value of the Security Services Department, while inaction or a lack of attentiveness are strictly prohibited.
1–3 years security, law enforcement, or customer service related experience preferred.
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Workplace Violence Prevention Certification, Narcan Administration, and Stop the Bleed training required within 6 months in position.
Must have a valid driver’s license. Motor vehicle record must meet CUHC standard criteria to be permitted to drive CUHC vehicles.
Current SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) Certification preferred.
IAHSS Security BASIC Certification preferred.
Current NJ-CPR Certification (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) required within 6 months in position.
