Operational Excellence is responsible for applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies as a framework to reduce variation and eliminate waste while deploying strategic projects to improve Cooper’s key pillars of Quality, Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction and Cost. This includes harnessing technology and other innovations to improve the health of those we serve, focusing on population health management, exceptional patient/consumer experience and improved system performance.
Support a culture of continuous process improvement within the Cooper Health System. Manage or support process improvement initiatives that deliver measurable results in partnership with project sponsors, process owners and other Operational Excellence team members.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to evaluate and implement tools to standardize workflows, transform processes and progress from volume to value.
• Support health system strategic initiatives with portfolio, project, and change management
Lead or Co-lead Lean Six Sigma and other (process improvement, change management, project management) methodology from project request to transition back to sponsors and process owners, delivering quality, service, and safety improvements and cost savings for the departments involved and for the health system.
Lead large and system-wide projects in support of Cooper’s strategic initiatives collaborating with program/project managers across the health system in support of Cooper’s strategic initiatives and high priority objectives.
Work closely with champions, sponsors, stakeholders, informatics and IT staff to create tactics, approach and timelines for projects, focusing on clinical/business process improvements.
Provide training of tools and methodologies throughout the organization to build a continuous improvement culture.
Coach green belts and help build an organizational knowledge base and improvement toolkit in Lean and Six Sigma.
Develop a data driven culture in projects following LSS methodology
Work to complete assigned projects within agreed upon timeframes, identifying and escalating any risks, mitigation plans and constraints.
Support White Belt, Yellow Belt, and Green Belt training programs.
6-10 Years Experience Required
6 to 10 years’ experience must be improvement science (i.e.: Lean Six Sigma) related. Health care experience in LSS, project management, and change management preferred. Clinical experience desired.
