The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
- Follows established policies and procedures.
- Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
- Provides a means, wheelchair or stretcher, and transports patient to and from the required locations throughout the Medical Center, including the Morgue, in a safe and orderly manner.
- Assists the patient care team in transferring patients safely to and from a wheelchair, stretcher and/or examination table. Provides a secondary source to hold and/or position a patient if necessary.
- Makes rounds throughout the Medical Center to clear hallways of wheelchairs, stretchers and other equipment.
- Collaborates with the patient care team to maintain a safe and clean environment. Maintain infection prevention practices by sanitation of patient rolling equipment with approved germicide in between patient use. Use safe lifting procedures and...
