Connects with newly diagnosed patients prior to first apt and at first appointment with oncology provider Facilitates the Multidisciplinary  Care at MDA Cancer Center at Cooper University Health Care Supports, educates and removes barriers to ensure timely specialized care Assesses patients for Clinic Research Trials Coordinates Disease Specific Tumor Board  Complies with all system and departmental policies and procedures Maintains active and current professional credentials

- Receives specimens and orders appropriate tests as prescribed; processes samples for laboratory testing using various computer applications. - Checks for specimen integrity and proper specimen identification. - Prints and distributes reports, answers telephone calls from customers including inpatient nurses/physicians and outpatient clients. - Processes specimens for multiple Reference Labs.

Responsible for registration functions (such as registration, insurance verification, patient safety and compliance, revenue collections, resource referrals, and customer service) in a fast paced, high volume Emergency Department that provides 24/7 service.

Provides psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, resources referrals, to facilitate discharge plans, and/or adjustment to illness, and complex discharge planning for patients and their families. Formulates the discharge plan with patient, families and the care team based upon a needs assessment. Coordinates appropriate referrals to home care agencies, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, and community-based programs. Coordinates care authorization process with insurers Coordinates specific details of patient’s hospitalization with Utilization Management department to ensure appropriate admission status.
