Responsible for registration functions (such as registration, insurance verification, patient safety and compliance, revenue collections, resource referrals, and customer service) in a fast paced, high volume Emergency Department that provides 24/7 service.

A nonexempt position responsible for the nursing care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s). May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including physical assessments, medication administration, promotion of wellness through patient education and teaching, care of the patient environment and organizational tasks. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Initiates and implements patient teaching plans. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management. 

The role is directly responsible for the daily operations of the Voorhees Surgical Center. The position will have oversight of 4 OR suites and 1 procedure room, Pre Op, PACU, PAT, and Central Sterile Processing, Education, and the Business office through partnership with the leaders of these areas.   The Patient Care Tech provides direct support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and performing routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and supporting patient transport. A key aspect of this position is the ability to demonstrate proficient computer skills, including accurately entering and maintaining patient data and documentation in compliance with hospital protocols.
