Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications utilizing the nursing process. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing and current NJ-RN License required. Specific shift requirements apply.

- Interviews and screen patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure there are no safety
concerns/contraindication.
- Performs MRI procedures following the protocols established by the Radiologists.
- Begins studies, transfers images, documents patient history and completes studies in
GE IDX PACS system.
- Able to correctly apply MRI compatible monitoring system/IV infusion pump to patients
when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills needed to effectively orchestrate
daily workflow of patients.
- Accurately and timely prepares all chemotherapy medications, including IV medications, under the direct supervision of the pharmacist as per policy and regulation.
- Compounds IV/chemotherapy medications in a cleanroom environment according to USP 797 and USP 800 standards
- Completes expired medication inspections
- Answers phones to assist in dispensing questions
- Ensures all medications are properly delivered.
- Breaks down wholesaler order, completes receipt documentation and stocks in designated location.
- Maintain organization of storage areas/storeroom and ensures ordering replacement stock as required based on patient usage and par levels.
- Functionally uses the hospital information systems
The Patient Service Representative will be a resource to the department, patients, families, and health care team members within the scope of their role. The Life Support Training Center Instructor is responsible for instructing students within the area they are certified adhering to the guidelines of the American Heart Association and Cooper University Hospital’s Life Support Training Center. Responsible for setup and breakdown of all instructional material and decontamination of equipment when necessary. Analysis of student performance and competency depending on course requirements. Teaches a minimum of four courses per year within their area of expertise.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
