Assist and support the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physician practice in providing patient care. Provide education to patients related to their injuries and exercise to advance recovery. Assists with the department and presentation of community educational programs related to Sports Medicine provides patient care. Assist Orthopedic surgeon/physician with the application and/or removal of plaster/fiberglass casts, sutures, clips, pins or other orthopedic devices or equipment
A nonexempt position responsible for the nursing care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s). May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including physical assessments, medication administration, promotion of wellness through patient education and teaching, care of the patient environment and organizational tasks. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Initiates and implements patient teaching plans. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
Carries out procedures for department functions, including, but not limited to:
Assists anesthesia department with daily preparation for cases, room turnover, restocking of supplies, cleaning of equipment and other duties as noted in job description.
Assist sterile processing technician with duties as assigned.
Assist supply coordinator with duties as assigned.
Follows established policies & procedures.
Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
A Registered Nurse who has completed educational preparation in Wound Ostomy and
Continence Nursing and demonstrates professional competence in this specialized nursing
field.
Nursing practice includes care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal,
genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
In consultation with the clinical nurse and members of the health care team impacts on
nursing care and positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include clinical practice, staff education, patient education, and research,
the CWOCN serves as a significant member of the multidisciplinary health care team.
Some of the primary duties that GI technicians perform include:
- GI Technicians prepare rooms and equipment before endoscopic procedures and clean up and sterilize after procedures
- Maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies for endoscopic procedure
- Ensuring equipment functions properly
- Preparing waiting and recovery rooms or procedure suites

- Responsible for the procuring, receiving, stocking and distribution of supplies to hospital departments and patient care areas and off-site facilities.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory with storage of hospital furniture, special projects furniture and equipment.
- Accurately receive, monitor, deliver and rectify discrepancies.
