Patient Navigators provide a single and centralized point of patient access to physician and radiology services across disciplines. This includes Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Pain Management.

This position has a strong emphasis on customer service to our patients.
Must ensure quality patient scheduling, positive telephone etiquette and customer
satisfaction in support of the mission of Cooper University Hospital.
Serve as the front line contact person for all incoming patients.
Greet, register, schedule, collect point of service copays and provide general information to
patients and their families using AIDET.
Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values
to both customer and co-workers.
Serves as patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination.
Performs paralegal duties independently with limited supervision by Associate General. Counsel or Chief Legal Counsel. Duties include research, preparation of contracts, review and prepare changes to transactional matters, review and summarization of litigation matters, investigation and preparation of discovery materials in litigation matters and other administrative duties as required.
The trained Surgical technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service areas in the Surgical Suite.
A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory
settings, including primary, multi-specialty, specialty practices.
May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting providers
with patient care, and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical
services.
Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these
standards in daily operations.
Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and
ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
Under general supervision is responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients, which compiles with the Joint Commission and title 22 regulations and the standards of care in the dietetic profession.
Responsible for the medical nutrition therapy of patient/residents; nutritional assessment, nutrition care plans, patient visitation, inpatient/outpatient diet counseling, consults regarding advance nutrition support, as well as assist in other areas related to the Food and Nutrition Services Department
The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper is the major pediatric tertiary care center for the 10-county southern New Jersey region. The more than 40 full-time faculty members of the Department of Pediatrics provide the complete range of pediatric general and subspecialty care and teach within the Department’s pediatric residency and medical student programs. The Division currently has 1 full-time gastroenterologist, 1 nurse educator, a part-time dietician, and a part-time social worker. The Children’s Regional Hospital also has approximately 40 additional pediatric specialists from the Departments of Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Radiology and others.
The Pediatric in-patient units include: a 7-bed Pediatric Emergency Room, 6-bed PICU, 12-bed step down unit, 20-bed Pediatric floor and 35-bed state-of-the art NICU.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s).
Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
1. Supports the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.
2. Performs technical duties as directed by RN, such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care specific to population served and documents appropriately.
3. Identifies and communicates changes in patient’s status to RN and responds appropriately. Demonstrates standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.
4. Reinforces education of patient and family/responsible party regarding individual care needs and safety issues.
5. Participates in Cooper patient satisfaction initiatives and goals. Participates in the performance improvement activities. Assists in orientation of new hires.
6. Completes annual unit-specific competencies by specified due date.
7. Attends Staff Meetings when available for documents review of staff meeting minutes.
8. Assists in admission, transfers and discharges of patients to and from the unit
