Patient Navigators provide a single and centralized point of patient access to physician and radiology services across disciplines. This includes Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Pain Management

A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory
settings, including primary, multi-specialty, specialty practices.
May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting providers
with patient care, and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical
services.
Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these
standards in daily operations.
Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and
ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
Examine medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry. They make abstracts of medical records by translating the medical terminology into standardized codes that record the patient's diagnosis and treatment information. Responsible for compiling and reporting data from all the medical facilities that treat a patient. Assist the cancer program in compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Accreditation and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Maintain CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) credentialing by attending at least one education session annually. Other duties typically include following up with registry patients to track progress, protecting patient information and assisting with special projects.
Interviews and screen patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure there are no safety
concerns/contraindication.
Performs MRI procedures following the protocols established by the Radiologists.
Begins studies, transfers images, documents patient history and completes studies in
GE IDX PACS system.
Experience with Cardiac and Pediatrics preferred.
Siemens/Toshiba experience preferred.
Able to correctly apply MRI compatible monitoring system/IV infusion pump to patients
when necessary.
Excellent organizational skills and communication skills needed to effectively orchestrate
daily workflow of patients.

This role is responsible for overseeing all hospital-based registration, admissions, insurance verification, procedural scheduling, prior authorization, and patient estimates for Cooper University Healthcare. This role has 3 direct reports, Directors overseeing functions within the hospital itself (1), external hospital-based locations (2), and all pre-service functions (3).

•Serves as a central resource for information concerning patients’ rights and responsibilities, advance directives and ethical issues.
•Serves as interpreter for Spanish speaking patients when needed.
•Coordinates, investigates and resolves patient grievances concerning the quality of care and service by providing a formal grievance mechanism.
•Leads efforts to collect, analyze and evaluate patient concerns.
•Masters an understanding of the organization’s mission, policies, procedures, and services to respond to patient questions or concerns.
•Responsible for meeting all regulatory regulations and standards.
•Responds to potentially serious incidents and reduces possible litigation.
•Provides leadership and consultation to committees, departments that affect patient needs and rights.
•Refers patients/families to appropriate services and resources.
•Provides leadership role in the inclusion of the patient/family experience.
•Is an integral part of the decision making process across the health system regarding patient experiences.
