  The Medical Practice Assistant will be responsible for the clinical administrative needs in the population health, innovative delivery department. Support Services Associate personnel are fully oriented, trained, capable of and willing to perform all functions of the duties outlined. The performance and quality standards for the assignment will be met constantly. This position has no direct or indirect supervisory duties or budgetary duties.

The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.

The Histotechnician performs duties in the histology laboratory according to accepted practices; prepares tissue specimens for routine and special processing; selects correct protocol based on physician orders.   Prepares thin slices of human tissue on slides for analysis by examining, fixing, and processing the tissue for proper sample preservation; surrounding the tissue with paraffin wax in a process called embedding; cutting a tissue sample with a microtome or cryostat; mounting the tissue sample on a slide; staining or dying the sample to emphasize abnormalities.
