Serve as the front line contact person for all incoming patients. Greet, register, schedule, collect point of service copays and provide general information to patients and their families using AIDET. Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values to both customer and co-workers. Serves as patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination.

  Interviews and screen patients prior to MRI procedures to ensure there are no safety concerns/contraindication. Performs MRI procedures following the protocols established by the Radiologists. Begins studies, transfers images, documents patient history and completes studies in GE IDX PACS system. Experience with Cardiac and Pediatrics preferred. Siemens/Toshiba experience preferred. Able to correctly apply MRI compatible monitoring system/IV infusion pump to patients when necessary. Excellent organizational skills and communication skills needed to effectively orchestrate daily workflow of patients.

A Perfusionist operates extracorporeal circulation and autotransfusion equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or temporarily replace the patient’s circulatory or respiratory function.    The Perfusionist is knowledgeable concerning the variety of equipment available to perform extracorporeal circulation and is responsible, in consultation with the physician, for selecting the appropriate equipment and techniques to be used.

This position also oversees responsibility for grants operations in collaboration with the finance leadership for the organization including full budgetary responsibilities. The leader manages research payroll for individuals by allocating their time/effort on a monthly basis to the appropriate grants account to ensure the department’s research effort is self-sufficient and does not require support from clinical revenue.
