- Proficient in patient scheduling, professional telephone etiquette and customer satisfaction in support of the mission of CUH.
- Surgical scheduler duties involve scheduling for hospital outpatient based services, changing, and canceling appointments, to include other administrative duties as assigned.
- Interface as a direct liaison with patients and clinical staff at procedural locations to communicate patient results and scheduling needs.
- Support checkout at Gastroenterology’s ambulatory office, scheduling patients for procedures after office visits.
- Provide accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test results and work with patients to reschedule procedures as needed. Take appropriate action in responding to questions from patients.
- Answer incoming calls, directing calls to the correct party, checking voicemails, and returning missed for scheduling requests.
- Responsible for the integrity of pre-registration to include accurate health care coverage(s).
- Escalate operational, provider, or patient complaints along with other critical matters to leadership.
- Knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes.
- Must work well in stressful situations and display a high degree of efficiency at all times.
- Strong emphasis on customer service.
- Assists the Clinical team in providing indirect patient care, plus has non patient care responsibilities to include but not limited to turning over rooms, pharmacy/specimen pickup or delivery, setting up equipment for cases and patient transporting.
- Contributes to quality patient care by serving as a significant member of the health care team.
Administrative functions include:
• Scheduling meetings, coordinates programs, data management, payroll duties, composing, typing, organizing, maintaining, and distributing documents and incoming/outgoing correspondence for Directors, handling confidential personnel and financial documents, assists Directors with daily operational functions.
• Acts as Human Resource liaison, maintains time and attendance, assists and coordinates calendar for Director, maintains expense accounts, coordinate IT requests for service,
responsible for office supplies across the Department, monitor accounts payable, compiles data for reports and other duties as necessary.
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
- Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s).
- Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
It is the role of the Rehab Services Aide to assist Therapists and Management staff in the execution of patient care and department operation. May be assigned tasks by Occupational, Physical or Speech therapists. May be asked to cover at other outpatient clinics or locations. Responsible to assist therapist with patient treatments, maintain supplies and overall cleanliness of treatment areas and patient care equipment. Prepares and cleans treatment areas, participates in departmental meetings and in-services, completes special department projects, assist with operational tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and billing. Aides are required to work at any location, including weekends and holidays, hours will be reflected by the hours of operation for the specific location.
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit at the direction of the Clinical Director and in his/her absence. This role is broad in scope and requires the ability to work independently and apply a high degree of judgment. Assigns workload and assumes responsibility for the operational functioning of the department. Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the nursing unit at the direction of the Clinical Director. Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care. Assists the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. Assists the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives. Assists the Clinical Director in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development. Acting as a liaison between nursing and medical staff, serving as a problem-solver and mediator for positive change; develops and maintains effective intra and interdepartmental relationships.
Adheres to departmental procedures and policies. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these standards in daily operations. Coordinates all details of various surveillance screenings and immunization programs.
Responsible for data collection, entry of data into Lawson and EPIC. Reporting out statistics with regard to compliance and provides data to various committees across Cooper University Hospital. Responsible for maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Ordering of medical supplies for surveillance/immunization programs. Identifies process improvements to screening programs, i.e. schedule development in coordination with staffing schedules; forms creation/amendments/updates. Resource to LOA/WC - assist with general LOA/WC questions.
Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfills compliance with life, safety, fire and hazardous waste requirements, Radiation Safety, Infection Control requirements.
Maintains Licensure, participates in C.E.U’s. Performs Ultrasound procedures (Portables, E.R., General, and Vascular).
Maintenance of equipment/supplies, maintains paperwork associated with job function.
Maintains work area.
Participates in clinical activities (i.e. assists with patient flow/care, performs various testing, assists provider etc.)
Participates in clerical activities (i.e. registration, scheduling, filing, telephones, pulling/ preparing charts, faxing, Xerox forms/ charts, fills out forms.
Participates in Departmental on-call tequirements.
This role requires rotating through the Cooper Health Systems Surgery Centers. (examples: Cooper Digestive Health Center, Voorhees Surgery Center, Moorestown Surgery Center, and other Surgery Center locations as assigned).
