Cooper Bone and Joint Institute is seeking a full-time ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work Per Diem - as needed.
This position will offer autonomous orthopedic patient care and the ability to work non-traditional hours.
The ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER will support the institute by evaluating and treating patients with acute orthopedic or postoperative problems in the office environment to provide access to orthopedic care.
A nonexempt position responsible for the nursing care under the supervision of physicians,
providers and/or registered nurse(s).
May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including physical
assessments, medication administration, promotion of wellness through patient education
and teaching, care of the patient environment and organizational tasks.
Maintains working knowledge of regulatory standards and is accountable to sustain these
standards in daily operations.
Initiates and implements patient teaching plans.
Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and
ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management.
A nonexempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties in various ambulatory
settings, including primary, multi-specialty, specialty practices.
May be involved in both the clinical and administrative areas including assisting providers
with patient care, and handling clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinical

Perform patient registrations, prepare death record, maintain logs and produce required reports.
Initiate notice of admissions when applicable. Complete information updates, assist nursing staff with computer transactions when needed.
Must have the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, Nursing, Directors, Managers, Vice Presidents, and Support Staff. Make and receive phone calls to physician’s offices, other institutions, house staff, insurance companies and patients.
Time management is crucial with the objective of expediting patient through put. Transactions throughout the institution will be reviewed for accuracy when applicable and corrected as required.
Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, with little or no supervision/direction, and as part of a team, in a fast paced high volume atmosphere.

Patient Navigators provide a single and centralized point of patient access to physician and radiology services across disciplines. This includes Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Pain Management.

Delivers an exceptional experience to patients, customers and physicians who contact the Access Center by facilitating patient access throughout Cooper’s provider network.
Provides support to the Access Center management team related to escalations, patient
complaints, new hire onboarding and training/cross-training.
Responsible for providing technical and operational support in the design, development,
delivery and evaluation of systems and training programs in the Patient Access Center.
Supports the Learning and Quality function for both training and quality monitoring across
the Patient Access Center and reviewing individual or team audit reports to identify training
needs.
This position functions as a subject matter expert and is expected to provide high-quality customer service in accordance with Cooper University Hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
