Responsible for supporting the ED clinical team in provision of patient care.   This includes environmental readiness, assistance with procedures/care, carrying out specific duties, and effective communication.   Support departmental initiatives including but not limited to patient throughput and customer service initiatives.

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

The Patient Care Technician provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Key responsibilities include observing and reporting patient condition changes, assisting with daily living activities (such as meals and bathing), recording vital signs, measuring fluid intake/output, collecting specimens, and transporting patients within the hospital. They also perform one-on-one monitoring with documentation, demonstrate computer skills, follow physician orders, and use the internal paging and patient call systems. This individual serves as a lead and the front-line contact person for all incoming patients. The incumbent will greet, register, schedule and provide general information to patients and/or their families. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will support our burgeoning Advanced Heart Failure program being led by Dr. Ketan Gala who begins his tenure at Cooper as Physician Director of the program beginning on August 1st, 2022. The APP would function at top of license in both the hospital and ambulatory setting to support the growth, maintain access and continue to facilitate excellent quality.
