The Medical Lab Technician Trainee is a training position preparing to gain ASCP certification after three years of full-time work under the supervision of a qualified director, supervisor, or technician in providing services of both a technical and non-technical nature in the laboratory services area. - Linkage to care point person for newly identified HIV infected persons enrolling in Cooper EIP medical care services. Re-engage HIV infected persons lost to care. Provide partner services to new and existing HIV infected patients. Work collaboratively with the medical care team providing patient counseling for management of medical treatment care plan.
- Employ social networking strategies with new and existing HIV-infected patients to bring additional social contacts in for HIV testing. Provide prevention counseling/strategies such as CLEAR, ARTAS, or Partners in Health for patients and their families..
- This position’s role is key in the implementation of multi-disciplinary care.
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
- Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
- Supports the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport. Demonstrate standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.

- This position will report up through the Director of Clinical Practice of CNI.
- The Manager of Clinical Practice will be responsible for the oversight of all clinical programs within CNI, as well as the direct reporting of all non-provider clinical team members in CNI.
- This position will have direct oversight to all daily operations within CNI, in partnership with other institute leadership.

Serve as the front-line contact person for all incoming patients. Greet, register, schedule, collect point of service copays and provide general information to patients and their families using AIDET. Must have the ability to be organized, take independent action and project Cooper’s values to both customer and co-workers. Serves as patient’s non-clinical navigator during discharge coordination.
