Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.

The Reception Ambassador provides information and assistance to patients, families and visitors and serves as support for the clinical staff within the reception and lobby areas at Cooper University Health Care. The ambassador may fill the gap for patients without family or friends available for visits and is often the first team member patients and visitors engage with when entering Cooper University Health Care. Primary responsibilities of the Reception Ambassador are to greet patients/family and visitors, provide excellent customer service, and to create a safe and friendly environment for all guests. A Nuclear Medicine Technologist II ability to operate a PETCT and SPECT/CT unit under the guidelines of the State of NJ. Maintains additional licensure to perform CT portion of the Nuclear Medicine exam with either an X-ray license of a NJDEP Limited or a Fusion Imaging CT Technology license.

- Vital signs (manual BPs)
- EKGs
- Reconciliation of medications
- Reason for visit, health care concern
- Interview/Discuss with patient changes in patient’s health since the last visit
- Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures
- Prepare appropriate medications for injections
- Responsible for phone messages, faxes, and Medical Reception responsibilities as needed
- Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, computer skills for scheduling, and familiarity with general office procedures and equipment
