The Clinical Laboratory Assistant works under the general supervision of the laboratory section manager in support of the Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists and Technicians. He/she performs duties in the technical areas of the laboratory including specimen handling, inventory, maintenance and others as assigned.
- Accurately validates prior-to-admission medication lists and takes medication & allergy history from patients.
- Contacts outpatient entities as needed for additional patient medication information.
- Communicates information to the health care team.
- Documents/corrects information in patient medication list in EPIC.
- Accurately and timely prepares all medications, including IV medications,
- under the direct supervision of the pharmacist as per policy and regulation.
- Completes expired medication inspections
- Answers phones to assist in dispensing questions
- Functionally uses the hospital information systems
- This role will provide administrative, regulatory, and research support for databases, registries, pilot projects, and investigator-initiated projects.
- This individual will ensure compliance with IRB requirements, oversee registry operations, support medical students' engagement with the research and data, and provide support and programming for basic data analysis and reporting.
Responsible for supporting the ED clinical team in provision of patient care. This includes environmental readiness, assistance with procedures/care, carrying out specific duties, and effective communication. Support departmental initiatives including but not limited to patient throughput and customer service initiatives.
The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.

Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling technologists, nursing and physicians to perform their duties in an effective manner. Maintain inventory levels of supplies and organize stock so that it’s properly maintained to avoid loss during daily operations or expiration. Clean assigned work areas and related equipment.
