Supervises Modality Supervisors and Lead Technologists and directs activities within all sections of Radiology.  This position requires flexibility and the ability and readiness to work beyond the normal hours. It also requires the ability to handle ambiguity in work plan definition and the ability to adapt to change.                                             The Manager Will: Manage all aspects of Technical and support staff in ensuring the provision of optimum patient care for all departments; provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, strategies, and services for the unit. Under the direction of the Director of Radiology, help to prepare, develop, and submits departmental budgets to Radiology Administration for final approval. Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with fiscal constraints and explains any variances. Responsible for hiring, discipline and firing. Strong focus on employee engagement and development. Manage the allocation of resources within selected areas through planning, budget process, analysis of statistical reports and other pertinent information. Manages and supervises Modality Supervisors and Leads. Implement, and coordinate continuous quality/ performance improvement to enhance clinical/technical practices and administrative process. Ensures the competence of department staff and their understanding of policies and regulations pertaining to imaging and support services; oversees the provision of care, and monitors staff compliance with organizational and regulatory agency requirements. Collaborative efforts with Administration to develop and interpret departmental short and long term goals and objectives. Meets with other staff members and external customers to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action. Analyzes departmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and constraints. Identifies measurable objectives and monitors progress toward the achievement of specified goals in keeping with operational standards. Establishes, revises, administers and communicates policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines under the direction of Radiology Leadership. Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards. Works with Director to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Maintains records on departmental personnel activities and processes. Uses information systems to retrieve, implement, and retain essential records and services. Maintains integrity and confidentiality of management and clinical information. Actively participates in ongoing or ad hoc committees or task forces to identify and resolve patient care issues. Directs development of priority competencies (technical skills, critical thinking, Human Relations skills) for each type of staff on selected areas within a clinical service line. Supports clinical research and conducts or participates in studies to improve clinical, educational and organizational performance within the clinical service line. Performs other related duties as required.

Addiction Medicine and Research are specialized and require unique skill sets. The Lead Research Coordinator will promote the growth in both the structure and the types of studies offered to our patients to advance care.  The role of the Lead Research Assistant provides the oversite of day-to-day implementation and work of the qualitative and quantitative research portfolio.   Research: - - Organize, participate, and assist in the preparation of documents needed for the initiation, monitoring, internal and external auditing and study close out visits. - Coordinates the conduct of addiction medicine related qualitative and quantitative research projects.   - Completes and maintains the relevant research training to function in the role- including EPIC training, EPIC billing, CITI, GCP, and Specimen Handling. - Active in planning and implementing patient recruitment into studies; reviewing medical records of upcoming new and return patient clinic visits and discussing with investigators, reaching out to potential referring physicians, approaching potential subjects in the office or speaking to them by phone, asking pre-screening eligibility questions, etc. and document in the electronic medical record system, EPIC. - Participate in clinic to explain the trial and provide informed consent to the patient and family, documenting the process in the patient’s electronic medical record system, EPIC. - Develop, schedule and oversee subject visits and any necessary testing and appointment coverage according to protocol and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (“GCP”) (e.g. scheduling subject visits within the appropriate window, ensuring all tests and assessments at each visit are performed, reporting adverse events and ensuring review and appropriate follow-up by investigator (documenting in EPIC any patient reported symptoms and forwarding to the appropriate clinical team), monitoring patient care and treatment side effects in concert with investigators, detailed documentation of study activities). - Monitor subjects per protocol requirements and ensure adherence to protocol. -  Organize and maintain all documentation required by the sponsor or CRO per GCP – includes source documentation (including the electronic medical record system, EPIC), case report forms, and research charts. - Responsible for the life cycle of the portfolio of Addition Medicine research grants with support from the grants manager. Follows policy and procedure to ensure compliance to state and federal requirements as well as internal a -  Acts as a liaison between teams, maintaining and promoting research activities such as reviewing new research projects, participating in addiction related conferences, and working with clinicians to work on research project success. 1.14 Acts as a mentor to coordinators with less research experience.
