Assists the Clinical Director in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care. Assists the Clinical Manager in directing the preparation and maintenance of patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. Assists the Clinical Director in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives. Assists the Clinical Director in ensuring that the staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.
Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s).
Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation and evaluation of patient care services within the Operating Room at the direction of the Clinical Director.
- Ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the Operating Room at the direction of the Clinical Director, in collaboration with the Vice President of Surgical Services.
- Assists in coordinating interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Assists in leading the patient care team to meet the needs of the customers and to achieve departmental objectives.
- The business of directing the schedule shall be collaboration between the OR Manager and Anesthesia charge physician to coordinate and expedite patient flow.
- In collaboration with the Anesthesia charge physician, shall have the final decisions on all matters pertaining to the conduct of the schedule with the objective to improve OR utilization and expedite patient/case flow at all times.
Set-up starterstation with trays, flatware, napkins, condiments, etc. Clean area according to cleaning checklist. Work starter/assembler/ checker station for patient AYR room service. The role of the Rehab Services Aide to assist Therapists and Management staff in the
execution of patient care and department operation.May be assigned tasks by Occupational, Physical or Speech therapists.May be asked to cover at other outpatient clinics or locations. Responsible to assist therapist with patient treatments, maintain supplies and overall cleanliness of treatment areas and patient care equipment. Prepares and cleans treatment areas, participates in departmental meetings and in-services, completes special department projects, assist with operational tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, and billing. Aides are required to work at any location, including weekends and holidays, hours will be reflected by the hours of operation for the specific location.

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self.
Additional Responsibilities:

Carries out procedures for department functions, including, but not limited to:
- Assists anesthesia department with daily preparation for cases, room turnover, restocking of supplies, cleaning of equipment and other duties as noted in job description.
- Assist sterile processing technician with duties as assigned.
- Assist supply coordinator with duties as assigned.
Follows established policies & procedures.
Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management,
and physicians.

Other duties as required
Provide emotional and spiritual support via spiritual/cultural rites and activities elected by
the patients and staff of Cooper Hospital via direct patient contact with pastoral care staff, departmental volunteers, and clinical pastoral education program students, while responding to requested referrals to patient/community resources.
Carries out procedures for department functions, including, but not limited to:
- Washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments/equipment.
- Maintaining accurate monitoring records.
- Using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators.
- Performs appropriate cleaning of all sterilization equipment.
- Assisting OR personnel in locating/reprocessing instruments.
- Participating in performance improvement activities.
- Follows established policies & procedures.
- Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
- Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians.
