The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.
Verify health care benefits; document in EPIC
Obtain prior authorization and managed care referrals; document in EPIC
Daily EPIC Work Queue management.
Submit dashboard referrals to financial assistance team for guarantors with less than 100%
coverage.
Utilize electronic tools and resources such as Navinet, AIM, I-exchange for obtaining preauthorization, document in EPIC.
Clean chart check within 72 hours unless STAT case.
Bridge the gap between clinician and patient, by providing individual support and

Working with current RN Navigator disease team to provide non-clinical support regarding scheduling, pre cert process, follow up calls and record retrieval for timely appointments
