Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient’s family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.
In a CAP-accredited laboratory, perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing while ensuring accuracy and timely results through adherence to QC and QA methodologies. Maintain a strong focus on detail, reference ranges, and clinical relevancy. Assist with specimen receiving, respond to pneumatic tube requests, and handle phone inquiries with professionalism and strong interpersonal skills. Exhibit flexibility by working in all lab sections as needed.
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver, who as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They supervise and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and plan of care.

- Supports the activities of daily living to include bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, and assisting with mobility and transport. Demonstrate standard precautions including the care of patients in isolation and safe patient practice.

Responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to their destinations enabling physicians, nurses, technicians, and therapists to perform their duties in an effective manner. Ensures positive patient and customer satisfaction, proper utilization of body mechanics, adherence to policies, procedures and standards established by Hospital, Department and Regulatory Agencies. A nonexempt position responsible for the medical assistant care under the supervision of physicians, providers and/or registered nurse(s) in various ambulatory settings. Clinical direction, oversight and competency review is provided by medical providers and ambulatory professional development team in coordination with office management. Greets patients and guests utilizing AIDET and provides excellent service experience. Provides patient support and keeps informed of delays. Takes appropriate action including offering alternatives.
