Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfilling compliance with Life, Safety, Fire and
Hazardous waste requirements.
Triage/Coordinates and performs direct patient care and clinical flow.
Prepares patients for providers, assisting with exams, assisting provider with suture
preparation, carrying out orders, (i.e.; various supplies/tests/ X-Rays/dispensing of
medications.)
Provides health assessments, preps for physicals, completes calibration of equipment, and
performs various testing to include,(Pod’s, Respiratory approvals, Spirometry, Audiograms,
EKG's, Drug Testing, Timms testing, Breath and Saliva Alcohols, Venipuncture etc.
Enters and oversees data entry with SYSTOC computer system.
Stocks and orders medications and medical/surgical supplies.
Reviews physical/tests results with provider and handles phone calls (i.e.; case
management, testing/physical results).
Demonstrates knowledge of the proper application of aseptic techniques in dressing
change and removal of sutures or staples.
Efficiently and effectively assists with the application and/or removal of plaster/fiberglass
casts, sutures, clips, pins or other Orthopaedic devices or equipment.
Articulates descriptions of Orthopaedic conditions based upon a basic understanding of
anatomical structures and their relationship with one another.
Assists with wound care and dressing changes as directed by physician.
Provides hospital support to the Orthopaedic physicians and providers to include operating
room assistance and direct patient care on the units.
Assist and support the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physician practice in providing patient care.
Provide education to patients related to their injuries and exercise to advance recovery.
Assist with the department and presentation of community educational programs related to Sports Medicine in providing patient care.
Assist Orthopedic surgeon/physician with the application and/or removal of plaster/fiberglass casts, sutures, clips, pins or other orthopedic devices or equipment.
The Orthopedic Technician supports the direct patient care clinical activity of the orthopedic surgeons and providers in the orthopedic ambulatory practices. The technologist is responsible to coordinate all activities related to casting, bracing, DME, wound care, suture/staple removal, order and maintaining of supplies, inventory, and care of equipment. Direct responsibility for application, removal and adjustment of casts and soft goods. Provides assistance to the medical staff with orthopedic procedures whenever needed to expedite the patient care process. Responsibilities include promoting patient education and safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, demonstrating understanding of resource utilization and completing all other duties as assigned.

The Advanced Practice Nurse assumes responsibility for advanced nursing practice within a clinical specialty.
In consultation with other members of the health care team, strengthens nursing practice and promotes positive patient outcomes.
